Prague Science Film Fest Prize
Grand prize-Knowledge imprinted into a branch. The mystery of nature opening to scientists.
A designer award made of recycled glass shards, on its surface an imprint of a tree. The Grand Prize goes to a science film selected among Academia Film Olomouc competition and the main competition at Prague Science Film Fest. With our glass object we pay tribute to both the discovered and the yet to be discovered.
Accompanying Prizes - CrystalsThe tinier designer awards are inspired by natural quartz crystals, bearing witness to nature through organic imprints and the remnants of ashes inside the glass mass.
The Prague Science Film Fest is organised by the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague and Palacký University in Olomouc, a host to the International Festival of Science Documentary Films AFO - Academia Film Olomouc since 1966. In addition to the traditional programme on campus, the Festival has expanded to the city centre and welcomes guests from abroad. The entire cooperation between the two universities culminates with the Grand Prize awarded to the winning film of both last year’s AFO competition and the main ČZU competition, coming with a financial reward of $10,000.
